Wordz

Wordz strategy

In brief

Look for long words first: their points climb with the square of the length. Work through a word family (plural, feminine, conjugations). A bonus word reduces the perfect bonus: it is worth it if it earns more than it costs.

Look for long words

In the Grid game from the examples, drawn by the app, here are the points of the traceable words by length:

LettersTraceable wordsAverage pointsBest word
3381218

5873240

7546477
83082104

101130130

The 5 best words in this grid are PARADERENT (130), PARAPENTE (117), REPANDANT (108), REPENDANT (108) and REPERDANT (108). None of them is a word to find: in Score, where every word counts, these are the ones to aim for.

Work through a word family

A word you find often hides others: same beginning, different ending. In the same grid, the family of PLAN gives 14 words: PLAN, PLANA, PLANAT, PLANE, PLANEE, PLANENT, PLANER, PLANERA, PLANETE, PLANT, PLANTA, PLANTE, PLANTEE and PLANTER.

Aim for high-value letters

In French, K, W, X, Y and Z are worth 10 points each, against 1 for vowels and the most common letters. When a high-value letter comes up, look for words that contain it: it counts for every letter of the word, multiplied by the length.

Bonus words and perfect bonus

This game has 10 words to find. If you find them all with no bonus word, the perfect bonus is worth 500 points; with one bonus word, 454; with two, 416. So the first bonus word costs 46 bonus points, the second 38: a bonus word that earns more than that raises the total score, while a shorter word lowers it.

The perfect bonus only exists in Circle and Grid, and only if all the words to find are found before time runs out.

In Circle mode

All the letters in the circle touch each other: only the order of the letters matters. Try anagrams and words that leave one letter aside. In the Circle game from the examples, the best word is COUVS (50 points), which is not a word to find.
